Coho Preserve officially opened on April 28th and attendees to this inaugural walk were treated to Red-tailed hawk calls, gorgeous mosses and ferns, and even a peek at the Coho fry that have returned to the creek, thanks to fisheries biologist, Jenny De Groot. As the days turn warmer, this magical little 24-acre preserve will provide a cool place for summer discoveries. Many thanks to our Orcas Preserve Steward, Ruthie, and field-assistant, Casey, for their hard work in getting the preserve ready, as well as to the multiple volunteers that assisted in building the parking lot and trails. Your Land Bank is very grateful!
