The Oak Team

Calling all members of the Acorn Army! The Land Bank would like to engage volunteers to visit and work on a regular basis to keep up momentum on this important restoration project as well as experience the changes through the seasons.

A volunteer crew of committed, fun-loving individuals is dedicated to helping the Land Bank recover & enhance San Juan Island’s native Garry oak preserve.

“Oakies,” as they jokingly refer to themselves, gather on Cady Mountain Preserve to perform restoration work such as planting & weeding, caging & fencing, cutting & limbing, piling & building, birding and inventorying.
