Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are an engaging group of friends and neighbors who assist staff by monitoring properties, participating in work parties and special events, and sometimes organizing and leading educational field trips.

Salish Seeds Project

Assist in seed collection, sowing, nursery care, and replanting native plants for habitat restoration. This project is new in 2014 and headed for exciting places of community involvement and enrichment.

Clean-ups

One-day clean-up events are held several times a year with our partners, and we are often gathering individuals who have a morning or afternoon to spare on any island to gather tons (actually tons!) of creosote, trash, and debris. Join us for a satisfying way to spend a day caring for your public lands.

Volunteer Preserve Monitor

Volunteer monitors provide support by visiting a Land Bank preserve on a regular basis. They have the opportunity to become intimately familiar with a particular preserve and serve as additional “eyes and ears” on the property to help track use and change over time.

Work Parties

Meet new friends and get some exercise to boot by volunteering at one of our work parties. These fun events take place on various Land Bank preserves and include such important tasks as invasive species removal, native species planting and trail maintenance.
