San Juan County Conservation Land Bank Hunting Procedures
Land Bank Preserves and Procedures for Black-tail Deer Hunting at Lopez Hill and Mount Grant Preserves
Limited Black-tail deer hunting is only allowed at Lopez Hill and Mount Grant Preserves annually, between September 1st to October 31st.
There is no hunting allowed at either preserve before or after those months although Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife seasons may extend beyond these dates.

San Juan County Code (9.08) requires hunters carry written permission from land owners for discharge of firearms including hunting. Please contact the Land Bank to receive written permission prior to hunting. For Mount Grant Preserve, the Land Bank participates in WDFW’s online reservation system. Reservations will consist of one hunting party per day. The reservation confirmation will serve as written permission for Mount Grant Preserve on San Juan Island.
