Eco-restoration Project Tour at Mount Grant Preserve

May 7 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Join San Juan stewardship staff for a guided tour highlighting work completed during a five-year eco-restoration of Garry oak associated habitat on the west side of Mount Grant Preserve.

Over the past five years, partners have worked together to restore fifteen acres of grassland, savanna, and woodland habitat as part of the broader San Juan Islands Landscape Scale Restoration project, funded through the Washington Department of Natural Resources.

Restoration activities include thinning encroaching young Douglas fir, protecting existing high-quality understory and old growth trees, and propagation of wildflowers, grasses, and Garry oak while focusing on plants with cultural significance to Coast Salish peoples.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to tanjaw@sjclandbank.org to reserve your spot. Space is limited.
