The San Juan County Land Bank and San Juan Islands Conservation District are teaming up for Washington’s annual Orca Recovery Day by planting Garry oak acorns and native prairie forbs on Turtleback Mountain Preserve.

How does planting trees help our Southern Resident orcas? Although this event seeks to raise awareness about this wonderous endangered species, it also highlights the critical ecological connections between land and sea, and the importance of supporting natural systems.

Sign up to join a “planting pod” below! Each pod will be limited to 12 people total.

Please sign up below so we can coordinate teams and send additional information.
