San Juan Island

Activities

Features

Deadman Bay Preserve is part of a large block of protected, public land on the western shore of San Juan Island. This 20-acre property provides access to nearly 1,000 feet of gravel beach and rocky coastline, while also protecting the outlet of a seasonal stream and associated wetlands. Purchase of Deadman Bay in 1995 was made possible by assistance from the Trust for Public Land and the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Funding Board. The Conservation Land Bank received a grant from the Washington State Interagency Committee to make the completion of this project possible.
