Features
2-acre Deer Harbor Waterfront Preserve protects 650 feet of marine shoreline and associated tidelands and are ideally located just north of the Deer Harbor hamlet. The Conservation Land Bank’s restoration efforts at this site have promoted marine health and improved habitat for forage fish and salmon. This work was conducted in partnership with the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, and the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office Salmon Recovery Funding Board. Contributions from Deer Harbor community members helped purchase the property.

Trail Description
Dear Harbor Waterfront Preserve offers visitors a restful place to picnic, take in views across the harbor, and explore short trails leading to the beach and adjacent marina. A walking path of mixed forest and an area of open meadow provides public access to the shoreline and views across the harbor to the Wasp Islands. A variety of birds utilize this land including bald eagles, osprey, kingfishers, and hummingbirds.

• Leash your dog and pack out waste.
• Follow leave no trace principles. Take nothing and leave nothing.
Driving Directions
From the Orcas ferry landing:
Take Orcas Road for 2.5 miles. Turn left on Deer Harbor Road and travel a total of 5.9 miles to the preserve entrance and parking area on the right.
