Features
Located near the northwest corner of Orcas Island, the 58-acre North Shore Preserve offers forested uplands, wetlands and over 1,800 feet of natural shoreline with prime nearshore habitat for juvenile salmon and the forage fish critical to salmon recovery. The Preserve has been protected since 2022 by the efforts of the Conservation Land Bank, the San Juan Preservation Trust, the Salmon Recovery Funding Board, and gifts from private donors.

Trail Description
The Preserve features mature forests, freshwater wetlands, extensive shoreline, and tidelands. It offers sweeping vistas of outer islands and a diversity of wildlife. Follow the 1/4 mile trail down to the beach. Visitors are asked to leave marine life and drift logs undisturbed, and not to trespass on adjoining private land and beach.

Driving Directions
From the Orcas ferry landing:
Take Orcas Road for 8 miles where it becomes Lovers Lane. Stay on Lovers Lane for 0.6 miles and turn left onto Mount Baker Road. Follow Mount Baker Road for 1 mile. Turn right onto Glenwood Inn Road and travel 0.4 miles to the parking area.
