Upright Head Preserve

Lopez Island

Activities

Features

Upright Head Preserve lies at the northern tip of Lopez Island. Located on a busy waterway and a turning point along the main ferry route, this prominent headland is a scenic landmark. It includes steep cliffs, remnant old growth trees, a bald eagle nest and over 2,000 feet of rocky shoreline. In 1998, the Conservation Land Bank’s purchase of the 26-acre Upright Head Preserve saved the northern tip of Lopez Island from development as a 13-lot subdivision.
