Historic L.H. Wheeler Kiln Interpretive Walk
Join Orcas Preserve Steward Ruthie Dougherty and Historian Boyd Pratt on a field trip to the L.H. Wheeler lime kiln ruins on the President Channel Preserve. This will be an opportunity to learn about the natural and social history of this isolated site.
Meet at the South Turtleback Mountain Preserve parking area (off Wild Rose Lane). Please note, this walk is 1.7 miles total, on old logging roads with up and down terrain; be sure to dress appropriately, and a snack and water are recommended for the hike.
