Special Valentine’s Day Tharald Historic Homestead Viewing and Historical Talk
Share a historical secret with your sweetie this Valentine’s Day! Join Boyd Pratt, architectural historian, on a guided tour of the privately owned Shaw Island pioneer farm, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is protected by a Historic Preservation Easement held by the San Juan County Land Bank. One of the best and oldest examples of its kind to survive in San Juan County, the Tharald Homestead is a terrific example of early Scandinavian settlement and “Nordic” style architecture within Washington State.
