The signs of fall are popping up – mornings are cooler, leaves blanket the ground, and now, sheep graze the eastern pasture of Beaverton Preserve. Shephard Family Enterprises are the new lessees of the Preserve’s designated agricultural area and a few weeks ago they moved their flock to the 45-acre grazing allotment. The sheep will rotate through portions of the large field with the help of portable electric fencing. The area is closed to public walking, but visitors to the Preserve are welcome to wave hello from the small parking area off Roche Harbor Road and admire the pastoral view.
