Meet the man atop the mower: Craig Green!
Craig discovered San Juan Island in 2006 while visiting some old friends. Struck by the beautiful scenery, great weather, and nice people, six months later he said goodbye to his home of 28 years and moved to the island — “best decision ever,” he said.
Craig’s work with local conservation organizations started with the WSU Beach Watchers program and where he first learned about the Land Bank. “I met many people involved in the ecology/environment of the County, including Doug McCutchen, the Preserve Steward for San Juan Island. It seemed the Land Banks needs, and my interests/talents, were a good fit.”
He was right! Craig has graciously been sharing his talents with the Land Bank since 2009, most recently donating his time – and tractor – mowing trails/roads at Zylstra and Beaverton Marsh Preserves. An enormous THANK YOU to Craig for keeping the trails tidy enough to push a stroller along.
