Be sure to check out the awesome, new kiosk at Limekiln Preserve on San Juan Island! Its a result of the creative minds of volunteers, Jim Goetz, Tim Cowell, and Lars Sjoholm, along with Preserve Steward, Doug McCutchen. In the end, it was Jim who developed the final design and Lars enjoyed creating a small-scale model – this is no run of the mill kiosk!

The small- scale model became a full size structure over the span of five days this past March. 50+ volunteer hours went into the construction of the kiosk, which includes cedar shake roofing recycled from a decommissioned cabin located on a different Land Bank preserve.

An enormous THANK YOU to volunteers Jim Goetz, Tim Cowell, Lars Sjoholm, Steve Ulvi, and Madonna and Thad Reid for their support in this project. Thanks to these committed volunteers, visitors to the Preserve’s main entrance are now greeted with a map of the area – a huge help in orienting hikers to the multi-trail area.
